Visit To The Embassy Of The Republic Of The Gambia In Beijing, China By The Director Of Asia And Oceanic Affairs Division Of The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Of The Gambia

VISIT TO THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE GAMBIA IN BEIJING, CHINA BY THE DIRECTOR OF ASIA AND OCEANIC AFFAIRS DIVISION OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE GAMBIA

The Embassy of the Republic of The Gambia in Beijing, China welcomed the Director of Asia and Oceanic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Mrs. Fatou Njie Hydara to The Gambia Embassy in Beijing, China on Wednesday, 24^th November 2021.

The visit created an opportunity for the staff of the Embassy of The Gambia in Beijing to have a meeting with the Director of Asia and Oceanic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to brief on the activities of the Embassy and have a frank discussion on existing opportunities, challenges and issues impeding efficiency and effectiveness at work as well as profer solutions to bridge the gap.

In his welcoming remark, His Excellency Masanneh Nyuku Kinteh, Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia to Beijing, China welcomed the Director of Asia and Oceanic Affairs Division, Mrs. Fatou Njie Hydara to the Embassy and indicated that the visit created an opportunity for the Embassy to brief her on the Embassy’s activities, achievements and challenges. Ambassador Kinteh highlighted key challenges of the Embassy.

The Deputy Head of Mission of The Gambia Embassy in Beijing, Ms. Fatou Kinneh Jobe gave the briefing on the activities of the Embassy, followed by an open discussion between staff members and the Director.

On her part, the Director, Madam Fatou Njie Hydara thanked Ambassador Kinteh and team for the warm welcome and congratulated them for all the achievements the Embassy have registered within a short period since the re-resumption of diplomatic ties between The Gambia and China. She indicated that the meeting was one that availed her Division the adequate information that would add value to the Ministry’s bid for a more proactive foreign policy and assured that all the issues discussed in the meeting will be addressed.

At the end of the meeting, the Embassy of the Republic of The Gambia in Beijing, China presented to the Director of Asia and Oceanic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia copies of its maiden edition of a Special Magazine published entitled “The Gambia and China New Stage of Cooperation”. This first magazine publication by the Embassy marks an important milestone in the Embassy’s work in Beijing as information constitutes one of its key tools of public diplomacy.
